I've recently completed an update to a client's website which involved quite a bit of work, and unfortunately I undersold myself and charged much less than my usual fee, but worse still it became a difficult project because I was under a lot of pressure from additional work and external family health problems which made the last couple of months a very difficult time.
However, one must soldier on. My client's website is now completed (another mobile friendly update to two of his websites) and all that remains is some additional SEO work provided by his regular SEO expert.
(I still implement on-site SEO but am quite happy to hand over more in-depth SEO to someone else because my main interest is in the design work, not spending time generating backlinks and pouring over analytical data - which I would find truly boring)
In this instance, the work mainly involved making the sites not so much different in design to his existing websites (which were ranking extremely well in the search results) but simply to update them to be 'responsive' and more suited to mobile devices. I would have preferred to have designed something radically different, but hey, keeping the client happy is my number one goal.
Since completion I have added a further two pages which incorporate new keywords and hope to see them ranking well within a relatively short period of time.
