I've been extra busy lately with building new 'mobile friendly' websites for new clients, as well as existing clients who want to have their website updated because of the new Google update that favours 'mobile friendly' sites in the search results. This however has not as yet had any great impact on most websites that my clients own. Not if you are searching on a desktop or laptop at least.
Nope, the new Google update mainly effects people searching on their smartphone. This makes sense because not all mobile friendly websites are 'responsive' designs that look good on all devices. Some 'mobile' sites look terrible on a larger screen.
'Responsive' websites are definitely the way to go if you're considering getting a new website or updating from an old one.
So why are 'mobile friendly' websites so important anyway?
Because this is the future of internet searches as more and more people start using their phones to go online.
More than half the people who go online now do so using their smartphone.
