New Horizons

Took me about 30 seconds to think up a title for this post. I called it 'New Horizons' mainly because of the new project I'm working on. It's taking up a lot of my time, but fingers crossed, I'm hoping that it will be a big success, financially as well as popular with a major sector of the UK population.

In my previous post I mentioned some of the ways that I have generated an income online. I also referred to the changing face of SEO and how it's becoming more and more difficult to compete in the search engine arena due to the many changes that have occurred over the last year or two. However, although this may be perfectly true, especially if you're trying to earn money from affiliate related sites, and especially for the more popular subjects such as 'Making Money Online' or 'Diet Advice' and 'Health & Fitness' sites, there is still lots of potential for generating an income from local business websites, especially if you have a decent knowledge of SEO and how to use it to help your local businesses get first page rankings in the search results, or in Google's place pages.

Although I've been quite successful at the latter I also still hanker for hitting the big time with a more widely used authorative site. And this is the reason why I'm spending a lot of time now on my most recent web design project, in order to reap the rewards in the long term. (Hopefully)

I still don't want to give too much information away right now, because, like any good idea you need to make sure that what you do isn't being copied, and you need to get a big lead in the game before your emulators try to catch up.
