Just been away visiting family In Italy and spent some leisure time reading, as well as helping out clearing the garden in their new home.
The book I read was about how to write a novel. It's something I have often thought about but never got around to doing. I've written a few short scripts for short film ideas, but never anything significant. However, the bug has bitten me again. And I'm not talking about the mosquitoes and spider bites that I received in Italy. Yes, first time I have ever been bitten by a spider! No, I'm talking about this urge I have to create a World full of interesting characters and exciting adventures.
So basically, I would love to write a novel or two, perhaps a trilogy, which would obviously be science fiction or fantasy, because that is where my creative talents are fed by inspirational stories and images from writers and artists of this genre.
It may turn out that I'm not good enough to write a decent story, or that my actual writing skills are not up to par, but that doesn't matter. I'm not too concerned about whether my stories get published. Besides, self-publishing your own novel these days is pretty easy. Whether it's on a website or through a kindle ebook on Amazon. No I just like the idea of creating something that might spur my own imagination and give me pleasure from writing, and illustrating, my own stories.
Writing technique is something I am working on, as well as coming up with a good idea, so wish me luck. Possibly by next year I may have something to show for it.
