UK small business websites

In my previous post I referred to the fact that I am happy to design all types of business websites for UK based small businesses. In the column to the right you can see a list of websites that I have created, but I thought you might like to view a small selection of different types of business websites so here's a few links to seven different types of business sites that I have recently designed for clients.

http://www.baileyjamesroofing.co.uk/ (roofing contractors)
http://www.buckinghamshirelandscapesltd.co.uk/ (hard and soft landscaping)
http://www.sirsweepalot.co.uk/ (chimney sweep)
http://www.abctrailertraining.co.uk/ (driving instruction)
http://www.theboatbutler.co.uk/ (boat caretaker)
http://www.salisburyjigandtool.co.uk/ (toolmaker)
http://www.gutterreplacements.co.uk/ (gutter repairs)

Web design for small businesses

Although as a web designer I have mainly specialised in creating websites for window cleaning companies, I am quite happy to create websites for all types of small business. For example, just recently I completed a website for a chimney sweep. It's a fairly simple 'clean' design but it certainly does the job, and the client was very happy with it. So if you're looking for an affordable website for your business then give me a call. Or click this link to visit my main website Small UK business web design

Latest websites completed

Between the hectic process of getting the latest issue of Window Cleaning Magazine completed by the April 1st publishing deadline, I have completed 5 new websites. Three were for window cleaning companies and two for gutter repair and replacement companies. (Actually they were both projects for existing window cleaning clients who are branching out with their other services)

It's important to realise that when the search engines visit your site and try to assess what your site is all about that the website is correctly optimised and focused on targeting potential customers seeking precisely the type of service you're offering. If your website is mainly aimed at window cleaning then ideally at least 90% of the site should be about that service, and not diluted with many other extra services such as pressure washing, gutter cleaning, driveway cleaning and carpet cleaning etc. That's not to say you can't mention these extra services (which you can add on your 'Our Services' page) but it's far more effective to have a seperate website focused on these individual services. Especially if you're relying on your website to gain more customers through online marketing.

Anyhow, here's one of the sites that I completed for a client in just a few days. It's only a two page site that cost £80 (I charge £40 per page) and already it's ranking on the first page of Google for the optimised search terms the client was aiming for.

In case you didn't know, the Window Cleaning Magazine is a quarterly digital magazine available to download via the WCM website http://www.windowcleaningmagazine.co.uk/

To be able to access and read the current issue you will first need to sign up as a member in order to be able to log in to the members area where the April issue and all back issues can be located.

The good news however, is it's completely FREE membership. And the magazines are free to download as well. No fees whatsoever!

It's a great read for anyone involved in the window cleaning industry and it's packed with information on new products, tips and articles and interviews with high profile figures in the world of window cleaning.

Window Cleaning Services

I've recently set up a new website which is mainly focused on helping many of my clients who operate window cleaning companies to get more enquiries from their websites. It's basically a mini directory of window cleaners based in the UK and Ireland. The directory will only include companies that I have done websites for so it will be fairly exclusive. My intention is to get it high up in the search results for selected keyword phrases, and in turn, provide more exposure for their business.

If anyone who runs a window cleaning company is reading this and would like a website for their business, or if you already have a website but have been toying with the idea of improving it's design and position in the search results, then I will gladly help you out. You will then automatically get your site listed in the new directory Window Cleaning Services

Latest issue of Window Cleaning Magazine

The new issue of Window Cleaning Magazine is now available and packed with interesting articles, plus tips, advice and interviews with leading figures in the Window Cleaning Industry.

Why mention the Window Cleaning Magazine on a blog about web design?

Because the magazine layout and publishing has been produced by yours truly. Lee Burbidge is the brains behind the magazine and has done a fantastic job so far in pulling everything together. I'm just the guy who follows Lee's instructions. But if you take a look at the magazine I think we make a good team.

The Window Cleaning Magazine is free to anyone interested in reading it. You can dowload and subscribe the current issue, as well as the first issue by following the link below.
